Update 10/25/2002

I hope this section of our web page is one that Leslie and I regularly keep up. With family and friends all over the place, it is so hard to write and call as we should.
(in the oven) Well, the biggest news in our life right now is that we are expecting our first baby. Leslie is in her seventh month. We are getting excited and nervous at the same time. After going through one doctor and one nurse-midwife, we have finally found a midwife named Beverly Jacks, and we are pleased with our choice. Leslie is relieved to have a birth attendant who is positive and caring and makes us feel like this baby is as much of a blessing as we think it is. Since Leslie wants a natural birth, Beverly recommended we attend Bradley birthing classes. We have been six times already, out of the twelve weekly sessions. There are six other couples in the class, and we meet at Grace Bible Church—you can get some interesting insight into a church by visiting their website. :)(on the home front) We are still in the process of finishing up our remodeling project. As I write, I am feeling a bit guilty that I am not painting. I am really not sure that we will ever be done (though Leslie cringes at those words). I must say that we are in the last stages of the project. I have not posted any pictures lately because we are just doing an hour here and there, so I never feel like getting the camera out. (work) I guess the biggest news with work right now is that Leslie got a promotion to Programmer Analyst III. This is quite an accomplishment, and I am proud of her. She has been at UnumProvident for almost six and a half years, and I have been there for about 18 months. We sit just 5 or 6 cubes apart. It has been a blessing, and we thank God for the opportunity to work so close together.(church) Leslie and I are still leading a small group Bible study for couples on Sunday nights at our church. Right now we are reading the book Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas. I don’t think I could say too many good things about it; it is not your typical marriage book (it’s more about the Sacred than the Marriage). I was originally given the book, and an endorsement, by Scott Randles a year and a half ago as a graduation present, but I had never had a chance to read it. Robert Johnson, the head of small group ministries at our church, recommended the author, and we are glad he did.
